FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What causes slippery floors?
The property that makes a floor slip-resistant in the presence of a lubricating contaminant such as water is its surface irregularity. New floors, that seemed slip-resistant, quickly become slippery when wet as the irregularities become worn down and less jagged.
Does cleaning a floor surface make it slip resistant?
Proper cleaning will reduce polymerization (mixture of grease, oil and dirt that becomes a wax like substance coating the surface) making the surface less slippery but it will not increase the co-efficient of friction or the slip resistance as SLIPSTOP treatment does.
How is SLIPSTOP different from other treatments?
SLIPSTOP treatment is not a corrosive, etching product that works by creating microscopic holes or channels. It will not alter the appearance, color or texture of floors.
What types of surfaces can SLIPSTOP be applied to?
SLIPSTOP can be used on ceramic tiles, marbles, granite, quartz tiles, terrazzo, concrete, quarry tiles, porcelain, stone/enamel bath tubs and other natural and artificial stones.
Will SLIPSTOP change the look of the floor or bathtub?
SLIPSTOP will not alter the appearance, color or texture of tile floors and bathtubs.
How long does SLIPSTOP last?
SLIPSTOP is applied once every three years and for bathtubs once every five years.
Is SLIPSTOP difficult to apply? Do I need special equipment?
SLIPSTOP treatment is an easy self application program applied with a sprayer or mop and bucket.
How long before you can walk on the treated area?
SLIPSTOP is allowed to stand for 15 to 20 minutes then it is rinsed off with clean water and the surface can be used immediately.
How do you maintain a SLIPSTOP treated floor?
Normal cleaning products and procedures may be used on SLIPSTOP treated surfaces.
Will the grout be affected?
SLIPSTOP is not corrosive and will not harm the grout.
Is SLIPSTOP safe for the environment?
